The Full Story

Purple 26 Nepal

Purple day was created in 2008 by Cassidy Megan, a young girl from Canada, who has epilepsy. She wanted to get people talking about the condition and to eliminate the fear and stigma surrounding it. The purple color was chosen from Lavender, which  is recognized as the international flower of epilepsy. The flower is said to symbolise isolation and loneliness, often associated with epilepsy. Purple day has grown to be a global event.

Ms Nooma Sharma and the team of Dr S Bhattarai, Dr AM Shrestha, Dr M Thapa, Y Khadka, and Ms Ivanka Rana conceptualized celebrating the purple day in Bhimsen Sthambha "Dharahara" which was supported by NNC team. Government of Nepal kindly supported this event. Let's Join the Purple Day Campaign ! #purple26nepal #epilepsynepal not only this year but for many years to come!

Rise Up. Speak Up. Join Up.

National Neuro Center (NNC) began as a dedicated neuroscience center in 2020, focusing on precise management of neurological disorders including social awareness and community action. We soon became recognized as an empowered collection of leaders—engaging with more and more people, adding more and more supporters, and amplifying more and more voices. NNC leads campaigns that promote real solutions to some of the biggest challenges faced by society. We challenge the notion that the way things are is the way things should always be, and are proud to be a force for positive transformation.

Inspiring Change

We believe that there is no singular answer—every little bit helps when it comes to making an impact. There are many meaningful ways you can help us succeed in our mission. Have an idea that’s not listed below? Reach out and let us know.
